My name is Russ Pierre and love to spend as much time outdoors as possible. I ride bikes both on and off road,  I'm a surfer, and walk with my family, that includes my Boarder Terrier, Kylo. I spend time in the woodland doing bushcraft and learning new skills, or doing photography,  occasionally I coach positive well-being, and sometimes I like to sit on a rock and have a ponder.  When lockdon happened in 2020 life became pretty restricted within our local radius and this is where the title of the blog has come from. We learnt to further explore and have adventures within our radius, but knowing it's important to get out there, stretch that limit.

Having so many interests I have a mind filled with a plethora of ideas about what to write and to simplify this I decided to just write anything I want,  and where I want, under the name The Radius. As long as it's related to being outdoors, and making the most of the environment around me either here within my Radius of the Wild West of Cornwall,  or further afield I'll be writing about it.  If an audience appears then that would be great, and with an aim to inspire one or two people, who knows. If not, well then this is just a journal to look back upon with fond memories.
